History – Founded in 1969 by brothers Dan & Dave Nichols, Nichols Surf Shop has been in its present location since 1974. Nichols is New Smyrna’s oldest Surf Shop, with the building being a historical landmark, which was originally built in 1910. After working at Nichols for over 16 years, present owner, Chuck Carter, took over the shop in 1996.

Today – Nichols carries quality surfboards and real surf wear you cannot find at the mall. Nichols rents about everything you need for the beach; surfboards, bodyboards, bicycles, kayaks, wetsuits, etc. For more information, visit our rentals page located here.

Nichols also offers ding repair from a simple rail bash to complete restoration of that classic longboard or retro board. Nichols carries the real stuff you won't find in the malls or discount stores, SO COME CHECK IT OUT!

Nichols Surf Instruction: We have been providing surf lessons to people of all ages & abilities since the 80’s and have developed a unique teaching routine that takes two hours, one hour on land and one in the surf.
